National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) DECREE
The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) was established by Decree No. 3 of 1975 and amended by Decree No. 5 of 1987. It is a Federal Government organ charged with the responsibility of coordination, development and promotion of the living Arts and Cultures of Nigeria at National and International fora.

National Gallery of ART ACT
The National gallery of Art of Nigeria (NGA) was established by Decree No. 86 of 1993 in fulfillment of a provision of Nigeria’s cultural policy which recommends that a National Gallery of Art be established for the promotion and presentation of creative visual art in Nigeria. This recommendation derives from the UNESCO document on the World Decade for Cultural Development (WDCD). Its corporate headquarters is located in Abuja, the Federal capital Territory (FCT).

National Commission for Museums and Monuments Decree
The National Commission for Museums and Monuments was established by Decree No. 77 of 1979 (now Act of Parliament, CAP 242, 2000) to replace the former Antiquities Commission. Today’s National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM) has its root in Nigeria’s Antiquities Service, which was established on 28 July 1943; and, in the early days of museum administration in Nigeria, the head of this institution was called Surveyor of Antiquities.
